Griffy Creek Studio LLC now an official U. S. Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready Homes Partner
In addition to zero-net-energy commercial, institutional, and community architecture, Griffy Creek Studio is now partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy to design Zero Energy Ready Homes in Indiana. A decade ago, I designed the first verified zero-net-energy public library in America and Indiana's first zero-energy building. That decade has seen the price of solar PV drop by 80% as the cost of grid electricity has climbed by over 4o%. Solar PV electricity is now cheaper than grid electricity in Indiana, making it today's smartest investment. This past decade has also seen 8 of the 10 hottest years on record (NOAA), making clean solar PV the most environmentally responsible investment as well.

If you are designing a new home, consider including solar PV, reap the benefits of powering your house by the sun, take a 30% tax credit (decreasing soon), do your part to solve climate change, and save hundreds of dollars every month. Most homeowners are seeing over a 12% return on investment as they pay off their PV system in 7 to 8 years. After that, they have access to clean, free energy to power their homes and vehicles for at least another 20 years. If you are not quite ready to tap into free energy from the sun, there are some simple, affordable features you can incorporate into your home project that will make installing solar PV easier and more affordable in the future.
Let Griffy Creek Studio help you zero in on free power from your nearest star.
